Ex-real estate management and accounting professional Kelly Reed is the author of The Homesteading Encyclopedia: The Essential Beginner’s Homestead Planning Guide for a Self-Sufficient Lifestyle.

From her background in helping other people to find their dream home, Kelly has funneled her professional experience into her passion for homesteading, giving her a unique perspective and a strong drive to help others on their journey towards self-sufficiency.

Kelly has over a decade’s worth of homesteading experience and is a firm believer in lifelong learning. Alongside her husband, Robert, she has tried, tested, and investigated every facet of self-sufficiency, drawing on the expertise and guidance of her community for inspiration.

It is this belief in community and the value of continual learning that led her to set up the popular Facebook group Homestead Living & Self Sufficiency. She is an active member of both her online and real-life communities, running a successful market stall in her local area, and constantly seeking to support and learn from others.

After dedicating years of her life to helping other people find the home of their dreams, Kelly and Robert now live in their own little slice of paradise with their two almost-adult children and a diverse collection of animals.
